The Workplace Practice was appointed by the charity, The Nuffield Foundation, to assist them with their London office relocation from the West End to Clerkenwell.  Nuffield Foundation staff had been situated in their beautiful, existing Grade 1 listed building for 30 years.

The space was divided up into many small rooms, which did not facilitate staff being in one space and able to work together collaboratively, nor was it accessible physically to everyone, which was an issue as Nuffield Foundation is a convener and holds events. Nuffield Foundation’s key requirements were to bring all of their staff into one space, to facilitate collaboration, and also to have an enhanced and accessible event space for their external events.

We provided client-side advisory services and project support throughout the entire programme, from understanding the brief, to assisting with reviewing potential buildings and undertaking due diligence to assess feasibility. We established a Project Steering Group, advised on appropriate governance, identified other specialist consultants required to deliver elements of the programme, and scoped the programme budget, whilst following TWP’s bespoke process (insert link to other page). We also provided advice and support throughout the design process and worked with the Design & Build contractor and IT/AV contractor to ensure that the project was delivered on time and within budget.

The new office is 10,000sq ft spread over two floors, with an internal connecting staircase. The fit-out comprised Cat B works to both floors and was undertaken on a Design & Build basis. The upper floor comprises an event room, meeting rooms, a space for staff to eat, the Reception and a warming kitchen. The staff floor was a mixture of desks, meeting rooms, focus rooms and a first aid room.

Our clients love that we genuinely care about their workplace as much as they do.
